I’m so proud of you for being so open and recognizing that he probably means you look happy and full of life, which is beautiful, but it’s also important that you recognize how that impacted you.

Sometimes people say things that hurt without knowing it, and I know how basic of a statement that sounds like, but it’s easy to forget when we’re feeling affected.

I think it might be helpful for him to have so education around what it means to have an ED and especially that it’s important to remove the stereotype that only people with certain body types or behaviors have serious eating disorders. I think it’d be beneficial for you to get that support, especially because what you’re going through is very real!

You are so brave for being open about this and the triggering feeling will pass. You are strong, you are fighting, and you are enough.

I run a camp for 9 to 12 year old girls and they decided that they wanted to have a superhero day. Many of them even created their own superheroes! It was a lot of fun and great to see a new generation of girls loving superheroes.

Marvel and DC Comics here are your future consumers! Bow low!
