People are becoming aware of how much weight I'm losing. I've lost 20 pounds in.. Oh, I don't know, maybe a month-ish? But my mom literally told me tonight 'You're, like, /shrinking./' Every scale says I'm at a healthy weight. I still have fat on my tummy and muscle on my legs from running up stairs every day. I feel physically better than ever, but I don't want to hurt others by losing weight.. ;;

TW ED

You cannot measure an eating disorder. Your BMI can be overweight and you can still have an ED or distorted eating habits. You will never lose enough weight  to satisfy an eating disorder because even a -400 lbs on a scale wouldn’t be enough.

You deserve to be proud of your body and its shape and different textures and all that it does. You deserve to eat a general minimum of 2,000 calories each day. You deserve to exist and love all that you are.

Eating disorders are tricky and I absolutely am not a professional and cannot diagnose, but it seems like you are rationalizing the distorted behaviors by using your feelings around weight, and that flags ED thinking. NO matter what, you deserve to reach out and make sure your body is healthy in all of its totality, not just weight.

You deserve to love yourself.

just wanted to say that all of the positive things you reblog are great to see just before i go to sleep :) i literally feel ten times better for having seen them

oh my gosh you just made my night! these messages always help lift me up. I was just getting major anxiety because I felt like a ate too much but this really helped me wow wow <3

I work with kids and several times I've had girls around 11 years old tell me that they need to lose weight, are fat, gained weight etc and I don't know what I can say to that. I don't want to say that they're not fat because that would give them the impression that 'fat' is bad. It makes me sick that that's the world we're living in but could you help me?

Hi hi hi thank you so much for reaching out and being so kind!

I’ve spent some time working with that age group and generally what I go to is saying that bodies are beautiful in every capacity and modeling that behavior by keeping a positive self-image especially around them. I’ve tried to contend the idea that there is only one type of beautiful, like asking, “well, what’s your favorite thing about your best friend” because it’s 100% of the time not a physical attribute.

The best way to make a difference in the world is to start with yourself and being good to your body as well.
